1. Introduction
Welcome to Swedish Civics ("App", "we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use our iOS application.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate and improve the App:
- Purchase & Subscription Data: When you purchase any Swedish Civics Premium plan — 6-month subscription, annual subscription, or Lifetime one-time purchase — Apple processes the transaction. We receive only an anonymized confirmation of your entitlement (active plan and expiry, if any) through Apple's StoreKit framework. We never receive your payment details, card numbers, or Apple ID. We do not store this entitlement on any server; it is verified live with Apple each time the App opens.
- Progress Data: Your lesson completion history and quiz results are stored locally on your device only using Apple's UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.
- App Settings: Your selected display language and audio playback preferences are stored locally on your device.
- Notification Preferences: If you enable daily study reminders, the App requests permission to send local push notifications. We do not use notifications for marketing or tracking. You can disable them at any time from iOS Settings.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
- We do not collect your location data
- We do not collect crash reports, telemetry, or usage analytics of any kind — the App contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
- We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics SDKs
- We do not build user profiles or sell data to any third party
- We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or photos
- We do not send marketing push notifications — reminders are local, scheduled on-device only
4. How We Use Your Information
The limited information we receive is used solely to:
- Verify and restore your Premium entitlement (6-month, annual, or Lifetime) via Apple StoreKit
- Provide the App's core functionality entirely on your device
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following Apple-provided frameworks, which are subject to Apple's own Privacy Policy:
- StoreKit — for in-app purchases and subscription management
- AVFoundation — for local audio playback (no data is transmitted)
We do not integrate any third-party advertising networks, social media SDKs, or data brokers.
6. Data Storage & Security
All user data (progress, settings) is stored exclusively on your local device. We do not operate servers that store personal user data. Your Premium entitlement — whether subscription or Lifetime one-time purchase — is validated directly with Apple's StoreKit each time the App opens. We never cache, persist, or process payment information ourselves.
7. Your Rights
Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no personal profile to access, correct, or delete. All locally stored progress data can be cleared at any time from within the App (Settings → History → Reset All Progress).
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under GDPR. Since we collect no personal data, these rights are satisfied by design.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
